Need Information on Los Angeles Schools?

If you have school-age children, the local schools are a large factor in deciding on
where to look for a new home. There is a wealth of information available on the Los
Angeles Unified School District’s website:

You can search for a particular type of program, such as bilingual, magnet, or pilot
or enter an address in the “find a school” feature at the bottom of the screen, and
search by the school name or residence address to find the names and locations of
the neighborhood elementary, middle, and high schools.

The listing for each of the schools includes a short history of the school, an overview
of hours, meal offerings, before and after school care and arts programs, and the next
open house. The listing also includes demographic information, rate of parent
participation, performance data, and the percentage of students who feel safe in the
school. You can also click through to the school website.

This is also the site to download application forms. Parents of registered students
have a special sign-in to get specific school information.
