Maybe it is time to give your house a facelift.
During the pandemic, it became popular to paint houses farmhouse white with black
trim, or moody, monochromic black or grey. Now homeowners are drawing from
the natural world with deep greens, earthy browns, warm taupes, or rich creams.
The move away from black-as-night shades is not so much to light, bright colors as
to dark olives and deep greens that work like a warmer neutral. A sense of drama
without being as severe.
Icy whites are giving way to creamier whites and warmer, light beige styles. An off-
white exterior color gives a crisp, clean look, but is not as sterile as paper white.
Brights have not disappeared. Homeowners increasingly are using strategic bold
colors to draw the eye to certain elements like the front door. A dusty green house
might have an orange-red front door.
So when you are picking out paints consider a creamy white or grey and greens
from pale to dark.
