If you have school-age children, the local schools are a large factor in deciding
where to look for a new home. There is a wealth of information available on the Los
Angeles Unified School District’s website: achieve.lausd.net
You can search for a particular type of program, such as bilingual, magnet, or pilot, or enter an address in the “school search” feature and find out the names and
locations of the neighborhood elementary, middle, and high schools.
The listing for each of the schools includes a short history of the school, an overview
of hours, meal offerings, before and after school care, and arts programs. The listing
also includes demographic information, rate of parent participation, and the
percentage of students who feel safe in the school.
This is also the site to download application forms. Parents of registered students
have a special sign-in to get specific school information.
