Silent Movies

On a warm summer day, I grabbed a seat inside the air-conditioned theater at the Autry Museum to take in the silent film “The Kid Brother” starring Harold Lloyd. Set in the American west the movie was filmed in Glendale, Burbank, Altadena and Catalina Island in the 1920’s.

Not only was it fun to try to identify the real world locations but we were treated to a panel discussion with Lloyd’s granddaughter before the film and a live piano player during the show. A great way to beat the heat!
